Chapter 15 - Inside the Vault

|

I sat down at the small viewing table inside the secure vault room, flipping through the pages of my father's journal.

Sarah leaned over my shoulder, her eyes widening as she read the entries.

“March 12, 2020,” the journal read. “Julian Vance discovered the server access codes for Project Helios. He threatened to expose my private offshore research nodes to rival energy conglomerates unless I signed over controlling interest. When I refused, he staged a break-in at my residence. I fled to international waters to preserve the master keys.”

The journal contained full bank routing numbers, digital ledger hashes, and step-by-step instructions on how to access the encrypted server node holding the complete intellectual property rights to Project Helios.

Julian hadn't just stolen equity—he had been running a massive corporate espionage operation, selling piecemeal access to my father's technology to foreign buyers while using my marriage as a human shield to prevent investigation.

"Ara," Sarah whispered, her voice trembling with excitement. "This hardware wallet contains the master authorization keys. If we activate this online right now, we can lock Apex Holdings out of the global patent database permanently."

"Do it," I said without hesitation.

Sarah plugged the hardware wallet into her encrypted tablet. She entered the master password provided in the journal.
