Chapter 1 - The Digital Truth

Alejandro’s fingers trembled as he unlocked the security app on his phone. The silence in the dining room was absolute, broken only by Sofía’s quiet, residual sniffles as she clung to his leg. He didn't want to look. A part of him, the part that had planned to marry Valeria in just two months, wanted to throw the phone against the wall and pretend none of this was happening. But the terrified, pale face of Lucía, his daughter's nanny, and the sudden, sickening loss of color in Valeria's cheeks forced him to face the screen.
He rewound the footage by ten minutes. The kitchen was empty. Then, Valeria stepped into the frame. She was wearing her pristine white suit, looking over her shoulder with a calculated coldness that made Alejandro’s blood turn to ice. She pulled a small vial from her designer purse.
"Alejandro, please," Valeria begged in the present, taking a step toward him. "It's just vitamins. She looked tired. I was trying to help."
"Shut up," Alejandro growled, his voice dropping to a terrifying whisper.
On the screen, Valeria crushed two heavy white pills into a powder and quickly mixed them into Sofía’s favorite pasta dish. She wiped her hands, smoothed her suit, and walked out. A minute later, the footage showed Lucía walking in, noticing the white residue on the counter next to the vial Valeria had carelessly left behind for a moment. Lucía had connected the dots instantly. She sprinted into the dining room just as Sofía was lifting the fork. Lucía had lunged, slapping the plate away, causing it to shatter on the floor—the exact scene Alejandro had walked into.
Lucía hadn't hurt Sofía. She had saved her life.
Alejandro slowly lowered the phone. He looked at Valeria, a woman he thought he loved, and saw a complete stranger. A monster.
"Get out," Alejandro commanded, pointing a shaking finger at the front door. "Get out of my house before I call the police."

"You can't do this!" Valeria shrieked, dropping her elegant facade. "I am going to be your wife!"
"You are nothing to me now," he spat.
