Chapter 19 - The Facade Crumbles

Adrian’s hands began to tremble. It wasn't from fear; it was from a profound, earth-shattering rage. He looked at the woman standing before him in a breathtaking wedding gown, realizing he was looking at a complete stranger. The woman he loved had never actually existed; she was a meticulously crafted illusion designed entirely to destroy him.
He took a slow, agonizing step toward her. The broken glass crunched beneath his boots, sounding like the fracturing of his own heart.
"You locked up a child," Adrian whispered, his voice dangerously quiet, vibrating with a terrifying intensity. "You locked a terrified, innocent child in a soundproof room... to protect your lies?"
Claudia’s eyes welled up with frantic, desperate tears. She dropped the golden key, raising her hands as if begging for mercy. The mask was completely gone, leaving only a pathetic, cornered manipulator.
"Adrian... please, let me explain..." she sobbed, taking a step toward him, reaching out to touch his lapel. "I panicked! I wasn't thinking straight! I do love you, I swear I do!"
Adrian recoiled violently, slapping her hand away as if her touch were pure poison. He took a massive step backward, putting distance between himself and the monster he had almost married.
"I don't need an explanation from someone who can use a child's terror to cover up her own greed," Adrian stated, his voice ringing with absolute, icy finality. "You disgust me."

He turned to Maria, who was still shielding Leo. "Maria, take Leo to my private study and call his parents. Have security escort this woman off my property immediately. If she resists, call the police."
Claudia collapsed onto her knees among the shattered glass, sobbing hysterically as her empire of lies burned to the ground.
