Victor Hale sat beside a team of attorneys. Lydia Kessler sat two rows behind him, refusing to look at Claire.

Arthur Vale testified first.

He described the creation of Aster Vale, the secret property purchases and the forged authorization documents.

Victor’s lawyers attacked his credibility.

Then Mara presented the employee archive.

Transaction by transaction, she showed how money had moved from Rowan Meridian into shell companies controlled by Victor and Lydia.

Lydia continued to smile until Elise Rowan entered the chamber.

Reporters stood.

Claire watched Lydia’s face lose its color.

Elise testified that Victor had threatened her family and arranged the accident meant to silence her. She produced letters, recordings and the original trust agreement.

The final witness was Victor’s former legal officer.

In exchange for protection, he confirmed that Victor ordered the warehouse fire and the server attack.

Victor requested a private recess.

During the break, he approached Claire in the corridor.

“You think this ends with me in prison?” he said. “The lenders will still destroy your company.”

“Then we rebuild without them.”

“You need people like me.”

“No. Companies were taught to fear people like you.”

When the hearing resumed, regulators froze Victor’s assets and suspended his investment licenses.

Lydia was detained for questioning.

Outside, employees celebrated.

Claire did not.
