She Attacked the Curvy Nanny — The Mafia Boss Walked In Calling Her "Wife"

The gala was in full swing when Luca was pulled into a private, heavily guarded room to discuss business with a city councilman. Marco stood a respectful distance away, keeping a watchful eye as Norah stood by the champagne tower, enjoying a moment of quiet.

“Well, aren't you a fascinating little charity project.”

Norah turned to see a stunning, razor-thin woman wearing a glittering silver dress approaching her. Her name was Valentina Moretti. She was the daughter of a rival boss, and it was a poorly kept secret in the underworld that she had spent three years trying and failing to get Luca Castellano to put a ring on her finger.

“Excuse me?” Norah said politely, her analytical mind immediately recognizing the hostility.

Valentina looked Norah up and down with blatant, aristocratic disgust. “I heard Luca finally broke down and hired a permanent nanny for the brat. But to actually marry you? It’s pathetic. You’re practically spilling out of that dress.”

Norah took a slow sip of her champagne. “My husband prefers a woman with actual substance, Valentina. Not someone who breaks when the wind blows.”

Valentina’s perfectly contoured face flushed with violent rage. She stepped dangerously close, her voice dropping to a vicious hiss.

“You stupid, fat little nanny,” Valentina spat. “You think a piece of paper makes you belong in our world? Luca is a king. He needs a queen, not a bloated housemaid who changes diapers.”

To prove her point, Valentina intentionally swiped her hand, knocking Norah’s champagne glass backward. The icy liquid spilled heavily down the front of Norah’s beautiful burgundy velvet gown, ruining it instantly.

A collective gasp rippled through the immediate crowd. Marco surged forward, but before the massive bodyguard could even reach them, a voice cracked like thunder across the ballroom.

“What did you just say to her?”
