Chapter 20 - One Year Later

Exactly one year had passed since that chaotic wedding day in the vestibule. We hosted a small, incredibly private anniversary dinner, inviting only our truest friends and the loyal colleagues who had stood by us.
After the toast, I linked my arm through Liam’s and we stepped out onto the breezy terrace, looking down at the glittering city below. The tiny life growing inside me gave a soft flutter. I looked up at the man who had loved me fiercely, defending me when I was submerged in the darkest chapter of my life.
"What are you thinking about, Mrs. Sinclair?"
He asked, leaning down to press a warm kiss against my temple.
"I was just thinking,"

"That the old, tragic book of my life has finally burned to ashes. We are writing our own happily ever after now, and the ink belongs entirely to us."
