Rachel hesitated for several long seconds. She reached out, picked up her phone, and slowly slid it across the glass coffee table toward me.
"A package was delivered to my apartment this morning from my father’s private vault in Zurich," Rachel confessed, her voice barely audible. "It wasn't supposed to be opened until one year after his conviction."
I picked up the phone.
On the screen was a photograph of a handwritten letter, executed in thick black ink on heavy crest-embossed paper.
I read the lines:
My Dear Rachel,
If you are reading this, it means Logan failed, and my foolish attempt to fix his mess ended in my imprisonment. But you must understand the truth before it is too late.
