One year after the trial, Armitage House—the sprawling, gothic mansion where my life had nearly ended—was officially stripped of its dark legacy. At Julian’s direction, the estate was completely gutted, restructured, and legally transferred to a non-profit organization dedicated to legal defense and safe housing for abused mothers and pregnant women facing coercion from powerful partners or families.
I never set foot inside that house again. Some places are simply cursed by the blood spilled within their walls, and I had no desire to wake their ghosts.
Instead, Julian and I built our home in a sunlit, modern house near the coast, surrounded by tall pine trees and the sound of crashing waves. Rowan was a happy, robust toddler with Julian’s gray eyes and an unstoppable, infectious laugh that filled every corner of our lives.
With the vast resources of Armitage Global behind us, we officially launched the Armitage Bellamy Foundation.
The foundation provided emergency legal aid, 24-hour secure housing, financial forensic tracking, and medical advocacy for women trapped in toxic, high-control family systems. We partnered with hospitals nationwide to train intake nurses to spot the subtle, terrifying signs of domestic coercion disguised as "family tradition."
