There was no recording of Camila’s death.
No secret video showing Helena committing violence.
Instead, the device held voice memos.
Camila sounded tired but lucid.
In one, she said:
“Mom keeps telling everyone I’m forgetting things. I’m not. I started writing down dates because she makes me doubt myself.”
Another:
“She canceled my cardiology appointment and said the office rescheduled it. They didn’t.”
Ricardo stopped listening.
That detail mattered.
Camila had been referred to a cardiologist after repeated fainting episodes.
The appointment never happened.
Helena told the family Camila refused to go.
Phone records showed Camila had called the clinic twice trying to confirm why it disappeared from her calendar.
Another memo mentioned medication.
“Mom keeps moving my pills. I’m going to manage them myself.”
Investigators compared that statement with medical records.
Nothing proved Helena poisoned Camila or intentionally caused her death.
But the records did show missed follow-up appointments and inconsistent reporting of symptoms.
Camila’s physician had repeatedly received messages from Helena describing her daughter’s complaints as anxiety.
Camila herself had described chest pressure and faintness.
One version of her illness had been reaching doctors.
