Chapter 10 - The Fall of the Traitor

|

Dominic forcefully shoved Marcus back into the heavy leather chair at the head of the table.

Marcus slumped, clutching his shattered jaw, his eyes darting frantically toward the door, realizing his personal security team was not coming to save him.

"Gentlemen," Dominic addressed the terrified board members, straightening his cuffs perfectly. "My brother has graciously decided to step down from all executive duties, effective immediately. He will be transferring all of his personal shares back into the company trust."

"I won't sign anything!" Marcus garbled, spitting blood.

Dominic leaned over his brother, placing both hands on the armrests of the chair, trapping him.

"You will sign everything, Marcus," Dominic murmured so only his brother could hear. "Or I will hand you over to the Russian syndicate you owe five million dollars to. The money you borrowed to pay the hitmen who failed to kill me. I froze your accounts. You can't pay them back. If you walk out of this building as a private citizen, they will skin you alive before sunset."

Marcus’s eyes widened in absolute horror. He knew Dominic was telling the truth. Without the protection of the Crane Empire and the corporate funds, he was a dead man walking.

"You're a monster," Marcus wept, completely defeated.

"I am the man you created in that basement," Dominic corrected coldly.

He stood up, signaling to Silas. Silas placed a stack of legal documents onto the table, along with a heavy gold pen.

Marcus, trembling and sobbing quietly, signed away his entire life, his shares, and his freedom.

"Silas, escort my brother to the private airstrip," Dominic ordered, not looking at Marcus as the traitor was dragged from the room. "Put him on a plane to a very quiet, very isolated facility in Switzerland. Ensure he receives the finest medical care for his mental breakdown. And ensure he never leaves the grounds."

As the heavy doors closed behind Marcus, Dominic turned back to the board.

The executives were staring at him in terrified awe. The king had returned, more ruthless and absolute than ever before.

"The meeting is adjourned," Dominic announced smoothly. "I will expect updated quarterly reports on my desk by tomorrow morning."

The board members practically tripped over each other rushing out of the room, desperate to escape the apex predator.

Dominic stood alone in the silent boardroom. The war for his company was over. He had won.

But as he looked out the massive windows at the sprawling city, he realized that the empire felt surprisingly hollow without the woman who had given it back to him.

He pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed a secure number.

"Is she safe?" Dominic demanded the moment the line connected.

"Yes, Boss," the security operative in the lobby replied. "We extracted Miss Elena perfectly. She is currently en route back to the penthouse."

Dominic let out a long, shuddering breath, the tension finally leaving his massive shoulders.

"I'm coming home," Dominic said.
