Chapter 7 - Shadows in the Service Access

By noon that same day, Dante’s private security team had already infiltrated the digital infrastructure of the penthouse building where Matteo and Elena lived.
Dante sat in the back of a blacked-out SUV parked two blocks away from the penthouse, reviewing high-definition video feeds on a laptop. Beside him was his head of intelligence, a razor-sharp woman named Nina.
"Look at this timestamp, boss," Nina said, tapping the screen. "Yesterday afternoon. 4:41 p.m."
Dante leaned in. The camera captured the service entrance at the rear of the Moretti building. A woman dressed in a sharp designer suit and sunglasses swiped an executive keycard and stepped inside.
"Vivian Rinaldi," Dante recognized her immediately. "Matteo’s Chief Financial Officer."
"And his long-time mistress," Nina added. "Notice what she’s carrying under her arm."
Under her dark coat, Vivian was clutching a thick, heavy yellow document envelope.
"Track her exit," Dante commanded.
Nina sped up the footage. Exactly thirty-eight minutes later, at 5:19 p.m., Vivian emerged back out the service door. The document envelope was gone.
"Elena wasn't supposed to be home," Dante mused, rubbing his jaw. "She canceled an afternoon doctor's appointment because she was feeling morning sickness. She was upstairs resting."
"So Vivian sneaked up using her master keycard, dropped off the envelope in Elena’s private study, and left," Nina deduced. "And two hours later, Matteo comes home, finds those papers, loses his mind, and attacks his wife."
Dante’s eyes burned with quiet fury. "Vivian didn't just leak financial records. She planted them where she knew Matteo would find them. She used his violent temper as a weapon to destroy Elena."

"We need that physical access log before the Morettis wipe the server," Nina said.
"Carol’s already on it," Dante replied. "She's filing an emergency preservation order right now."
