Chapter 19 - The New Legacy|

Vincent held the bread in his hand, looking down at the gold butter melting across the warm crust.

He looked across the table at Emma, who was watching him with a mischievous, sparkling grin.

"Is it safe, Emma?" Vincent asked, a subtle twinkle in his gray eyes.

Emma giggled, a bright, musical sound that filled the grand dining hall. "Yes, Mr. Moretti. Mommy made it."

Maria laughed, pouring fresh tea into Vincent's glass. "It's entirely safe, sir. I guaranteed it myself."

Vincent took a bite of the bread, enjoying the simple, perfect peace of his home.

The dark days of suspicion, fortified gates, and silent betrayals were gone. The estate was no longer a fortress built for a lonely man waiting for an assassin. It was a home filled with life, laughter, and a future.

After lunch, Vincent walked out onto the stone terrace overlooking the green lawns.

Paul walked up beside him, holding a light jacket.

"The board meeting for the new children's hospital foundation is set for four o'clock, Boss," Paul reported smoothly. "And the trust attorneys confirmed that Emma's estate portfolio gained six percent this quarter."

"Good," Vincent nodded, taking his jacket. "How are the perimeter security teams doing?"

"We reduced the shift rotation by half, just like you asked," Paul smiled. "It's quiet, Vincent. Really quiet."

Vincent looked out across the lawn, where Emma was chasing a golden butterfly near the rose bushes, her laughter carrying over the gentle sea breeze.

"That's how it should be, Paul," Vincent said softly. "That's how it should be."
