Chapter 14

The revelation of his massive financial fraud broke the last thread of Victor’s sanity. His entire life—his wealth, his status, his freedom—was evaporating before his eyes, systematically dismantled by the man he had spent years mocking.

With a primal, furious roar, Victor charged. He raised the heavy iron crowbar high above his head, aiming a lethal strike directly at my skull. He intended to kill me, destroy the phone, and deal with Emily later.

He was fast, fueled by adrenaline, but he was a businessman throwing a tantrum. I was a professional who spent years training for worst-case scenarios.

I didn't step back. As the crowbar descended, I stepped inside his guard, closing the distance instantly. I raised my left forearm, blocking his strike at the wrist rather than the weapon, absorbing the shock before the iron could gain momentum. Simultaneously, my right hand shot out like a viper, gripping his wrist with crushing force.

I pivoted my hips, using his own forward momentum against him. I violently redirected his arm downward, driving the heavy iron crowbar straight into the concrete floor. The impact jarred his shoulder, causing him to grunt in pain. Before he could recover, I twisted his wrist sharply outward, applying a brutal joint lock.

Victor gasped in agony, his fingers involuntarily opening. The crowbar clanged uselessly to the floor.

I kept the pressure on his wrist, forcing him down to his knees, but I did not strike him. I didn't throw a punch. I didn't need to lower myself to his level of violence. I simply held him there, pinned by his own arm, completely and utterly neutralized.

"You always were all talk, Victor," I whispered coldly.
