Chapter 10 - The Mafia Boss's Sanctuary

The motorcade passed through two sets of heavily fortified iron gates before winding up a long, tree-lined driveway. Adrien’s estate was a massive stone fortress perched on a cliff overlooking the dark, churning ocean. There were armed guards patrolling the perimeter, a stark reminder of the dangerous world Adrien ruled.
But as he led Norah through the massive oak front doors, the interior was warm, lit by a roaring fire in the grand foyer.
“Welcome home, mia bella,” Adrien murmured, helping her out of her damp coat.
Norah looked around at the priceless art and ancient tapestries. “Adrien, my apartment…”
“You’re never going back there,” he stated, leaving no room for argument. “My men have already packed your things. They’re being delivered to the master suite. You are safe here. From your family, from the press, from everything.”
He led her upstairs to a sprawling bedroom that looked like it belonged in a palace. A massive soaking tub was already drawn, steaming with essential oils.
Norah stood awkwardly at the edge of the plush rug, feeling entirely out of place in her simple navy dress. She crossed her arms over her stomach, a nervous habit whenever she felt self-conscious about her curves in high-end environments.
Adrien noticed immediately. He closed the bedroom door, walked over, and gently pulled her arms away from her body.
“Don't,” he whispered, his eyes dark with desire. “Don't ever hide yourself from me. Your mother spent your whole life making you feel like you were taking up too much space. But in my house, you are the entire world.”
May you like
He reached behind her neck, his large fingers deftly unzipping her dress. As the fabric pooled at her feet, Adrien didn't look at her with the polite tolerance her family showed her. He looked at her like she was a feast, tracing the dip of her waist and the swell of her hips with absolute reverence.
“You are perfect,” he groaned, picking her up effortlessly and carrying her toward the massive bed. “And I am going to spend the rest of my life proving it to you.”
