Priya Raman, Aurelia’s General Counsel, walked to the edge of the stage, holding a official document.

“Mr. Vance,” Priya said sharply. “As General Counsel, I strongly advise you to remain silent until you have secured independent legal representation.”

“I don’t need legal advice from you, Priya!” Julian barked, his composure completely shattering. “I am the Chief Strategy Officer of this company!”

Camilla suddenly took another step back, her hands shaking so violently that her clutch purse slipped from her fingers and hit the carpet with a thud.

“That money wasn’t all mine!” Camilla burst out, her voice shrieking across the quiet hall.

The entire ballroom inhaled simultaneously.

Julian turned on her so fast his shoulder popped.

“Camilla! Shut your mouth!”

“No!” Camilla cried, her eyes wide with terror as she pointed a finger at Julian. “You told me those transfers were authorized! You said it was a tax-sheltered performance pool setup by the board!”

“You signed the vendor agreements!” Julian roared, stepping toward her aggressively.

“Because you told me to!” Camilla shouted back, tears smearing her mascara. “You set up Briar Consulting! You gave me the banking routing numbers!”
