The morning after the banquet, the financial world erupted. Valeria's father, a powerful real estate tycoon, demanded an emergency meeting. He stormed into Mateo’s private office, slamming his leather briefcase onto the mahogany desk.
“You publicly humiliated my daughter for a servant!” the older man roared.
Mateo sat behind his desk, entirely unbothered. His dark suit was crisp, his expression carved from granite.
“Your daughter assaulted the mother of my child, Romano,” Mateo said, his voice flat.
“I will pull all our investments from Castillo Enterprises!” Romano threatened, his chest heaving.
“By noon, your stock will plunge to zero!”
Mateo slowly leaned forward, locking his whiskey-colored eyes onto the tycoon.
“Do it,” Mateo whispered.
“I built this empire from nothing while Sofia protected my back.”
