Regina stopped abruptly, her sharp designer heels clicking loudly against the marble.

Her eyes, trained to spot the smallest imperfections in a room, zeroed in on the yellow mop bucket near the entrance.

She frowned, her lips thinning into a hard line.

"What is that doing here?"

She marched over, her presence immediately dropping the temperature in the immediate vicinity.

Maya looked up, her expression guarded but polite.

"I am just finishing the floor, ma'am. Someone spilled coffee."

Regina didn't look at the floor. She looked at the leather book resting against the bucket.

"What's that?"

Before Maya could reach for it, Regina snatched the sketchbook off the floor.

Maya’s breath hitched. A subtle, fleeting micro-expression of pure panic crossed her eyes, but she quickly forced her face back into a mask of neutrality.

"My sketchbook," Maya said quietly.
