Chapter 8: The Cornered Predator

Realizing that the digital camera was playing the damning evidence for all to hear, the groom's demeanor shifted from panic to a dangerous, cornered desperation. He took a hard, aggressive step forward down the altar steps, his eyes darting toward the exit and then back to the bride holding the device. The mask was completely gone, replaced by the unmistakable posture of a predator whose trap had failed.

"That's a fake! It's edited garbage!" he shouted, his voice cracking with fury as he tried to shout over the low murmur of rising indignation from the pews. Several male guests, including uncles and lifelong friends, stood up and stepped into the aisle, blocking his path and ensuring he could not lunge forward to snatch the camera back by force.

The groom's face flushed a deep, mottled red as he recognized that his social standing, his carefully crafted reputation, and his elaborate scheme were disintegrating in real-time. He pointed wild accusations at the guests, claiming everyone was conspiring against him, but his frantic excuses fell on deaf ears. The sheer ugliness of his character was now on full display for everyone to witness.

A cornered predator is often at its most dangerous, and the tense energy in the chapel spiked as security guards finally rushed through the heavy oak doors. They moved swiftly down the aisle, converging on the altar to neutralize the immediate threat. The groom's desperate attempts to regain control only cemented his downfall, proving that his charming exterior was nothing more than an elaborate camouflage.
