Savannah Guthrie Reveals the Heartbreaking Question Her Daughter Vale Asked After Grandma Nancy’s Abduction

Savannah Guthrie is navigating her own emotions related to the abduction of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, while also parenting her two children — daughter Vale, 11, and son Charley, 9.

On Thursday, March 26 during part one of a two-part Today interview with Hoda Kotb, Savannah explained what her children know about the investigation into their grandmother’s abduction.

“It’s so hard with kids, you know, because you want to protect them,” Savannah said of the case. “Vale would write me all the time, ‘Mama, any leads? You hear anything? Any hope?’ ”

Savannah said that she and her husband, Mike Feldman, “try to talk to” their kids about what’s going on, and said that their goal is to “try to give them a little more certainty than we have, to let them grieve.”

While Savannah and her family live in New York, her sister, Annie Guthrie, and brother-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, and their son, Olmo, lived just minutes from Nancy in Tucson, Ariz.
