During the World News Tonight with David Muir broadcast, David Muir shared a touching story about Savannah Guthrie, revealing that the Today presenter plans to return to television following the disappearance of her mother.

During that night's broadcast, Muir told viewers that Guthrie had recently visited the set of Today for the first time since her mother was abducted on February 1. The visit to Studio 1A in Rockefeller Center came more than a month after the disappearance of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie.

According to Muir, Guthrie became emotional during the visit as she reunited with coworkers and friends including Hoda Kotb, Jenna Bush Hager, and Al Roker. Muir told viewers that Guthrie "says she will return to the Today show, but it is to be determined when." It comes after a criminal attorney revealed the 6 huge red flags in Nancy's case that "don't add up."

He also shared a message Guthrie gave her colleagues during the visit.

"I wanted you to know that I'm still standing, and I still have hope, and I'm still me. And I don't know what version of me that will be, but it will be," she said.

Guthrie visited Studio 1A to personally thank the Today staff and crew for the support shown to her family since her mother's disappearance. During the visit, she expressed gratitude for the messages, prayers, and encouragement she has received.

The co-anchor thanked the team for all of the love and support and for "caring about my mom as much as I do."

"I'm holding onto my faith," she continued. "I still believe. And as my mom would say, 'Where else would I go?'" Guthrie also confirmed that she plans to return to the show at some point, though she did not provide a specific timeline.

"I have every intention of coming back," she told her colleagues. "I don't know how to come back, but I don't know how not to. You're my family. And I would like to try."

During the visit, Dylan Dreyer led a group prayer for Guthrie's mother and her family.

"We're here holding hands as a family, in a place where we don't understand why this is happening. It is not too bold to ask God for the biggest miracles every day," Dreyer said.

Guthrie then embraced colleagues throughout the studio. Later on the fourth hour of TODAY, Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager shared that they had spent time with Guthrie earlier that day.

"Savannah has come back to her home here at 30 Rock and Studio 1A," Jenna said. "We got to see her this morning, and in her perfect way she talked to all of us, hugged every single person in this room, the crew.
