During the World News Tonight with David Muir broadcast, David Muir shared a touching story about Savannah Guthrie, revealing that the Today presenter plans to return to television following the disappearance of her mother.
During that night's broadcast, Muir told viewers that Guthrie had recently visited the set of Today for the first time since her mother was abducted on February 1. The visit to Studio 1A in Rockefeller Center came more than a month after the disappearance of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie.
According to Muir, Guthrie became emotional during the visit as she reunited with coworkers and friends including Hoda Kotb, Jenna Bush Hager, and Al Roker. Muir told viewers that Guthrie "says she will return to the Today show, but it is to be determined when." It comes after a criminal attorney revealed the 6 huge red flags in Nancy's case that "don't add up."

He also shared a message Guthrie gave her colleagues during the visit.
"I wanted you to know that I'm still standing, and I still have hope, and I'm still me. And I don't know what version of me that will be, but it will be," she said.
Guthrie visited Studio 1A to personally thank the Today staff and crew for the support shown to her family since her mother's disappearance. During the visit, she expressed gratitude for the messages, prayers, and encouragement she has received.
The co-anchor thanked the team for all of the love and support and for "caring about my mom as much as I do."
"I'm holding onto my faith," she continued. "I still believe. And as my mom would say, 'Where else would I go?'" Guthrie also confirmed that she plans to return to the show at some point, though she did not provide a specific timeline.
"I have every intention of coming back," she told her colleagues. "I don't know how to come back, but I don't know how not to. You're my family. And I would like to try."

During the visit, Dylan Dreyer led a group prayer for Guthrie's mother and her family.
"We're here holding hands as a family, in a place where we don't understand why this is happening. It is not too bold to ask God for the biggest miracles every day," Dreyer said.
Guthrie then embraced colleagues throughout the studio. Later on the fourth hour of TODAY, Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager shared that they had spent time with Guthrie earlier that day.
"Savannah has come back to her home here at 30 Rock and Studio 1A," Jenna said. "We got to see her this morning, and in her perfect way she talked to all of us, hugged every single person in this room, the crew.
"She said that she has the intention to return to the show. Even though it feels like the hardest thing to do, it's also her home and where she feels so loved. And she is beyond loved here. And so, we're happy that she is home. I don't know when she is actually returning to the show, but she was here and that felt so good to get to hug her."
Sheinelle also spoke about Guthrie's strength.
"I'm proud of Savannah, and I'm rooting for Savannah, and I know the strength that it would've taken to even just come in here and to be amongst all of us," she said.
"I think her coming here just being able to be with us and for us to be able to hug her, I think it's a step," she added. "I don't know what's ahead of us, but all I know is it's a step."

Guthrie last appeared on Today on January 30, two days before her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing to police by family members. After the disappearance, Guthrie traveled to Arizona to be with her siblings, Annie and Camron, and their families.
The show's team publicly supported Guthrie during the search. On February 18, co-hosts wore yellow ribbons and the Studio 1A set was decorated with bouquets of yellow roses as a symbol of hope. Members of the community in Catalina Foothills outside Tucson also placed yellow flowers near Nancy Guthrie's home.
"She said the yellow flowers and the pins, all of the prayers, she feels them, she depends on them," Jenna said on the show.
Law enforcement believe Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home overnight on January 30. Investigators have been searching for a masked and armed man seen on a doorbell camera outside the home the night she disappeared.
While in Arizona, Savannah Guthrie shared updates about the search on Instagram. On February 4, she posted a video with her siblings addressing reports of a ransom letter circulating in the media. Three days later, the siblings appeared in another video addressing anyone who may have their mother and saying they would pay for her return. She has continued to use social media as means to search for her mom.

HOLLYWOOD TRAGEDY: Former NBC and CBS Soap Star Francisco San Martin Dies by Suicide at 39
___118___
Los Angeles, California — The bright lights of two American television giants—NBC and CBS—seem to have dimmed a little today. Millions of loyal viewers are reeling in shock and profound grief following sudden, heartbreaking news: Francisco San Martin, the handsome actor who captured hearts on the hit soap operas Days of Our Lives (NBC) and The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS), has died at the age of 39.
His passing has dealt a heavy blow to Hollywood, shattering the quiet illusion that fame and success can shield someone from hidden pain. According to a report confirmed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office, San Martin passed away at his home on Thursday, January 16. The most devastating and grim reality: the official cause of death has been ruled a suicide by "ligature hanging."
From a Boy in Montana to a Daytime Television Heartthrob
Francisco San Martin's life was a long journey driven by a deep passion for the arts. Born on the beautiful Spanish island of Mallorca, he was raised in the U.S. state of Montana. His love for the spotlight first blossomed during his roles in local children's theater productions. Entering his teenage years, he and his family returned to Spain, where he utilized his striking looks to work as a model while honing his craft in acting classes. After cutting his teeth in stage, television, and film productions in his home country, he decided to return to the U.S. to chase his big break.

And that break arrived on NBC. Millions of American viewers began to recognize Francisco when he took on the role of Dario Hernandez in the iconic soap Days of Our Lives between 2010 and 2011. His character was introduced mysteriously under the guise of a thief, but was later revealed to be secretly investigating a cold case. Although the role of Dario was recast with actor Jordi Vilasuso in 2016–2017, Francisco’s charming portrayal remained deeply etched in the minds of NBC viewers.
He didn't stop there; he went on to win over CBS audiences as well. In 2017, he appeared in seven episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful, playing the estate manager Mateo. Audiences also saw him shine on the screen alongside legends Michael Douglas and Matt Damon in Behind the Candelabra (2013), and acting opposite Gina Rodriguez in The CW's hit series Jane the Virgin (2017). His most recent credited role was in the 2022 short film Dot.
Drowning in Tears and Regret
As soon as the tragic news broke, social media was flooded with tearful tributes. To his colleagues, Francisco was far more than just a face that brought in ratings; he was a generous, driven, and incredibly warm artist.
Actress Camila Banus, who played his on-screen sister Gabi on Days of Our Lives, shared her immense heartbreak on her Instagram Story: "Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend. Love you mucho mucho mucho. I wish I had told you more."
Many still cannot fathom this bitter reality, as they had just recently seen a vibrant and healthy Francisco. Journalist Michael Fairman expressed his shock on X: "Very, very sad. I am a bit in shock, as I saw Francisco at my gym most every day."

At 39, an age when there is still so much of life left to live, the NBC and CBS star chose to close the curtain on his journey. The artistic legacy he leaves behind will live on, but his death also reopens an urgent, heartbreaking conversation: Behind radiant smiles and a thriving television career, there must always be room for honesty, compassion, and mental health support.
We send our deepest condolences to his family, and pray that Francisco has finally found the true peace he could not find under the glaring spotlight.

A MOTHER FOUND… A FAMILY SHATTERED: The Tragic Death of Nancy Guthrie and the Shocking Arrest That Revealed a Betrayal No One Saw Coming

The story of Nancy Guthrie began as a mystery that captured attention and concern.
At 84 years old, she was known as a quiet, deeply loved figure whose disappearance sent shockwaves through both her community and those who followed the case closely.
In the early days, the narrative seemed tragically familiar—a possible kidnapping.
Authorities searched tirelessly, neighbors spoke in hushed tones, and hope remained fragile but alive.
For her daughter, Savannah Guthrie, the uncertainty was perhaps the hardest part.
Waiting without answers can be more painful than facing the truth itself.
But as the investigation unfolded, subtle shifts began to emerge.

What once appeared to be an external threat slowly revealed signs of something closer to home.
Investigators, working methodically, began to piece together details that did not align with the initial assumptions. Timelines were reexamined.
Statements were revisited. And slowly, a different picture began to form.
When authorities confirmed that Nancy Guthrie had been found deceased, the emotional weight of the case deepened instantly.
It was no longer a search—it was a loss.
Then came the revelation that stunned everyone.
Tommaso Cioni, her stepfather, was arrested in connection with her death.
The news transformed the case overnight.
What had been viewed as a possible crime by an unknown perpetrator was now understood as something far more personal—a betrayal rooted within the family itself.
According to early reports, investigators are exploring motives tied to financial disputes and issues surrounding inheritance.
While details remain under investigation, the idea that greed and conflict could lead to such a tragic outcome has left many struggling to process what happened.
Because beyond the legal implications lies something deeper.
This is not just a case about crime. It is a story about trust—broken in the most profound way.
Families are often seen as places of safety, of unconditional support, of shared history.
To imagine harm coming from within that circle challenges something fundamental in how people understand relationships.
For those close to Nancy Guthrie, the grief is layered.
There is the pain of losing someone they loved.
There is the shock of how it happened.
And there is the haunting question of whether anything could have been done differently.
For Savannah Guthrie, the tragedy is deeply personal.
Known for her composure and professionalism, she now faces a reality no public role can prepare someone for—the loss of a parent under circumstances that are both devastating and complex.
Public reaction has been immediate and emotional.
Messages of support have poured in, reflecting a shared sense of sorrow and disbelief.
Many have expressed sympathy not only for the loss itself, but for the painful way in which the truth emerged.
At the same time, the case has sparked broader conversations.
About the pressures that can exist within families.
About the role of financial conflict in shaping relationships.
And about the importance of addressing tensions before they escalate into something irreversible.
As the legal process begins, there will be many questions still to answer.
What exactly happened in the final moments?
What evidence led investigators to their conclusions?
And how will justice be pursued in a case that has already left such deep emotional scars?
